I never saw a real puppy until I was over 20 years old. Of course I'd seen pictures on the internet, but never "the real thing."

Lucky must have been only the second or third puppy I ever saw in my life. I have seen many dogs over time, but those little sleepy eyes with the tiny and short body were something entirely different.

We, Lucky's forever family, met him for the first time at a small local spring festival. He was cuddled up in a small blanket, and for some reason, the people around him just made his little puppy-self super sleepy.

After a while (not even a whole month, after we met him) the previous family couldn't take care of the little puppy anymore.

They asked us if we would like to become Lucky's forever family.

We couldn't say no!

So we gathered some starter supplies from family and friends and picked him up right away.

It's never easy to let a puppy go, but Lucky himself just looked around and his eyes seemed to say: "Oh well, I guess you're my family now. Are we going on an adventure?"

And oh what an adventure we went on.
